Why Plume Ridge

Our own coaches, all season

Plume Ridge coaches are based in Niseko for the whole season. Lessons in Mandarin or Cantonese at no extra charge; English lessons can also be arranged.

Priced per group, not per head

1–2 people pay the same price; add ¥5,000 per group for 3–4 people and ¥10,000 for 5–6. Families and friends travelling together pay less per person.

Free changes up to 14 days out

Cancel or reschedule free of charge 14 days or more before your lesson. If the resort stops operating or we cancel for safety reasons, the 14-day limit doesn't apply: reschedule or get a full refund.

Who it's for

First-timers

We start from putting on your gear and finding your balance. Just choose “Never skied before” when you book.

Beginners who want to turn with confidence

You can already ride green runs and want linked turns and speed control on blue runs.

Riders ready for powder and trees

Niseko is famous for its powder; your coach moves you from groomers into powder at your pace.

2026/27 rates

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between a private and a small-group lesson?

Either way, one coach teaches one group. Groups of 1–2 pay the same price; groups of 3–6 pay a per-group supplement and the coach paces the lesson for everyone. Groups of a similar level learn fastest.

Can people of different levels share a lesson?

Yes, the coach adapts to the group. If the gap is large (say, one first-timer and one person already on blue runs), we recommend splitting into two groups; it works much better.

Do I need to buy my own lift ticket?

Yes. Lessons don't include lift tickets. Beginners don't ride the lifts much, so a points card is usually the better buy, and it's easiest to get one at the resort.

Can I request a particular coach?

WhatsApp a consultant first to check whether that coach is free on your date.

Can you arrange hotels, transfers and restaurants too?

Yes — see Niseko concierge for transfers, accommodation, gear, lift tickets and restaurants in one place.

First time: ski or snowboard?

You can start either from zero; just choose when you book. Not sure? WhatsApp a consultant and we'll suggest what suits you.
